About the centre
This Pre-School is located in Redfern, on the ground floor of what is a 16 story public housing block. Operating hours are from 9am – 3pm during school terms, and enjoys full numbers of children with a waiting list for this year and next. The centre is fully licensed by the NSW Dept of Community Services, with places for 20 children. Extensive renovations are currently being completed to improve both outdoor and indoor provision.
The pre-school is committed to providing a high quality, developmentally appropriate program for children aged between 3 and 5 years. The dedicated staff, who continue to update their knowledge in early childhood education, provide a unique pre-school environment of ‘belonging’ and acceptance, and in being part of the larger extended community family, despite the ongoing pressures that they experience in life in this part of South Sydney.
The Centre is enriched by the diversity of families with their many different cultures and backgrounds. Various performers come to the school each year, excursions undertaken on The Factory Bus, and celebrations include Harmony Day, Reconciliation Day, Aboriginal Children’s Day and NAIDOC with lots of great activities and family involvement.
About You
- Successfully completed a Cert 3 or Diploma in Early Childhood Education /or close to completion
- Strong knowledge of the EYLF and National Quality standards
- Completed practical placements with children aged 0 – 5
- First aid / CPR / Asthma and Anaphylaxis training and current certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Check
